PPC2000 and Government Best Practice

In 2008, the Office of Government Commerce commissioned Arup Project Management to produce an independent report on partnering contracts which compared PPC2000 with the NEC3 and JCT Constructing Excellence forms of Contract.  On the range of evaluation criteria utilised in the Arup Report, PPC2000 scored higher than the NEC and JCT contracts both in the overall rankings and in the category “Leading Excellence in Construction”.  Neilcott alongside our partners, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and Playle and Partners have been awarded for the second year an Innovation in Partnering Award utilising the PPC2000 Form of Contract for the delivery of the new 3 form entry Manor Longbridge Primary School.  Lessons learnt on a previous primary school were implemented on this project to the benefit of all parties to the Contract.  The school is an exemplary sustainability model, both in terms of construction and operation.

Branfil Primary School, Expansion Works

Neilcott have been awarded the Design and Construction of a new wing at Branfil Primary School as part of the expansion works to this Primary School, in Upminster, Essex.  The £4.6m scheme will be constructed with a cross laminated timber frame of which Neilcott has extensive experience.  Neilcott are committed to providing innovative solutions for construction projects and finding ways to delivery high-quality, well-designed buildings, quickly, efficiently and economically.  We believe that construction efficiency is important whether achieved through modern methods of construction such as this project or utilising traditional methods.  Utilising cross laminated timber as a solution for this project we shall:

  • Make more use of effective materials, reducing waste
  • Speed up delivery
  • Reduce weather sensitivity on site
  • Enable high standards of design quality
  • Reduce tolerances
  • Reduce resource consumption
