Inspire to Aspire

As part of Neilcott’s ” Inspire to Aspire” programme, Neilcott and members of our design team from Architects, Rivington Street Studio and Structural Engineers,  MLM Consulting Engineers attended Curwen Primary School to discuss with students from years 5 and 6 the various career options available in the construction industry.  Staff provided the students with an overview of their roles, their route through education and the types of projects that they have been involved in.  Neilcott also updated them on the progress of the extension works and “walked” them through 3D models of both floors of this new extension.  The students were keen to know what had happened to the bat that had delayed the start of the project, which had been roosting in the now demolished caretakers house.  Staff explained that this had been safely removed and that bat boxes were being installed around the school to house any future “visitors”.IMG_0183

Ivor Visits Dulwich Wood Primary School

“Ivor Goodsite” the Considerate Constructors Mascot, visited Dulwich Wood Primary School to discuss with the students works being undertaken by Neilcott to expand their school with the design and construction of a new 2-storey classroom block and some re-modelling and refurbishment to the existing school.  Ivor also discussed with the students the potential dangers of construction sites and whey they should never attempt to go onto them.

The students will be designing posters to be placed around the hoardings to warn local residents and neighbours of potential dangers.  Students will also be undertaking supervised tours of the site at a later date with Project Manager, Barry Deegan.
