LRCTG 2016 Awards

The LRCTG has been set up as an independent company to compliment the other CITB funded regional training groups across the UK. In 2013 they identified that London was a missing link in the national network of training groups and that an important opportunity to support construction SME`s operating in the London area to help fill the skills gaps was being missed. A successful application was made to the CITB which resulted in the pan-London group being formed. The group is run as a not for profit organisation and is managed on a voluntary basis by its members.  Each year they hold a celebration event to celebrate achievements made throughout the year in training and development.  The 2016 awards were held at the Worshipful Company of Pewterers and celebrated the achievements of remarkable individuals and companies.  Lewis Planner, one of Neilcott’s trainee surveyors was nominated for, and won, the award for Best Performance of an Adult Learner.  As a complete Novice to the Construction Industry, Lewis commenced employment with Neilcott on our apprenticeship programme, as a mature student he has displayed a consistent commitment to acquiring the new skills that he needed and as part of this he received a Distinction* in his Level 3 Diploma in Construction and the Built Environment. Lewis has since moved from our apprenticeship programme to our professional programme and has joined the surveying team as trainee surveyor.  In the short time that Lewis has been with Neilcott he has proved himself to be a valuable member of the surveying team, he is proactive and willing to take on any challenge.  He has now moved onto an HNC in Construction and he is approaching this next step in his education with the same impressive manner as he did the Diploma Neilcott are convinced that the outcomes will be equally as impressive. In five years’ Lewis would like to be well established within the construction industry, having gained experience and knowledge in this sector, his ultimate goal is a Batchelor of Science Degree in Quantity Surveying and also to gain his professional membership accreditation.IMG_3529IMG_3537
