Transition to new ISO Standards

Neilcott is delighted to have achieved accreditation to the revised quality and environmental management standards, ISO 9001:2015 and 14001:2015.  One of our core values is continuous improvement in everything that we do and as part of this we challenge and embrace change, explore best practice and communicate the benefits to all.  The changes to the new ISO 9001 and 14001 standards allowed us to reassess our business strategy and review the systems and processes that we have in place to monitor and measure these.

To make sure that we met the new standard we have reviewed the internal and external influences upon the business and undertaken detailed analysis to understand the needs and expectations of all interested parties.  A very important outcome of this business review was the development of a robust risk and opportunities register and business planning process.  A new business management system has been developed by Neilcott’s leadership team which is compatible with the strategic direction and the context of the organization, the whole system is frequently reviewed to ensure conformance to the standard.

Driving increased integration of our management systems throughout the business has been extremely beneficial and we are now preparing for the forthcoming changes to the OHSAS 18001 as it is also in the process of being revised.   ISO 45001, the international standard that will replace BS OHSAS 18001, has now reached the Final Draft International Standard (FDIS) stage. The standard sets requirements for occupational health and safety management systems and is expected to be published in early 2018.

An expected change is the stronger role for top management. Health and safety will become a central aspect of the overall management system, requiring a firm commitment from top management.  At the same time, it will be necessary to involve all employees in reaching occupational health and safety objectives.  Neilcott’s leadership team are already very central to our commitment of occupational health and safety and this will require no change in our approach this will be cascaded down our supply chain.

Christmas Jumper Day 2017

Our year long fund raising for Demelza culminated in the annual Christmas Jumper day in the Orpington office.  We are delighted to have raised just over £20,000 for this fantastic charity.  Some members of our team took the day very seriously!Barryseriously!
