A new primary school extension

A new primary school extension providing over 600 places has opened in Barking and Dagenham. The new single storey building is an additional site to Roding Primary School which is situated less than a mile away. Neilcott carried out the design and construction of the School for a cost of £8.59m. It uses the latest technology to reduce running costs as well as providing the most modern equipment for the pupils.

Much of the heating is derived from a ground source heat pump and to encourage pupil participation an understanding of biodiversity part of the grounds have been set aside as an ecology area. The 27-weeks base build programme saw the new Primary School handed over in time for the start of the new term.
