Meet the Buyer Event

Seme-260613-002-web-basedAs a delivery partner on the Fit for Legacy business support programme, Neilcott strive to maximise the use of local suppliers to promote not only a sustainable supply chain but to support the communities that we work within.  We were therefore delighted to have hosted a “Meet the Buyer” event at the CEME conference Centre in Rainham on Thursday 26th June.  In addition to reviewing our pipeline of upcoming projects we were fortunate enough to be joined by keynote speakers from the BRE, East London Business Place and ERA Associates.   The BRE provide a complete range of consultancy, testing, certification, commissioned research and training services covering all aspects of the built environment and associated industries.  Maggie Blackwell, a member of the BRE’s SMARTWaste team, provided suppliers with an overview of the SMARTWaste suite of tools and services.  SMARTWaste is a free web based tool available from the BRE which enables companies to measure and monitor waste arisings, reduce their environmental impacts and save money.  ERA Associates are a small, independent consultancy delivering Health, Safety and Environmental training and advice and Tony Stewart outlined Neilcott’s environmental policies and procedures whilst providing them with advice on the benefits of committing to review, monitor, measure and reduce the various impacts on the environment that they may have.  We were once again indebted to East London Business Place for their support in organising this very successful event and were delighted with the turnout from the local supply chain many of whom we hope to establish long lasting business relationships with.
