Prostate Cancer – Neilcott Joins the Fight

Prostate cancer is as big an issue for men as breast  cancer is for women.  Yet most men are unaware of the disease; research is badly underfunded; tests are unreliable; and treatments can cause incontinence and problems having sex.  Prostate cancer can often be successfully treated if it is diagnosed early enough.  But it isn’t always diagnosed early enough.  Prostate cancer kills 10,000 men a year in the UK and after lung cancer, it kills more men than any other cancer.  The numbers of men diagnosed with prostate cancer each year is rising.  It is predicted to become the most common cancer by 2030.

Neilcott has engaged the services of Prostate Cancer UK to highlight this issue across all of our sites with both information material, in the form of posters, quick guides and leaflets and toolbox talks.  Prostate Cancer UK support men and families affected by prostate cancer, prostate problems and the effects of treatment by providing specialist information and services.  They have a UK-wide telephone and email helpline staffed by specialist nurses dedicated to supporting anyone with concerns about prostate problems.  Their peer support services offers anyone confronted with prostate cancer the opportunity to talk with a trained support volunteer.  Call 0800 074 8383 or visit for more information.
